The name Cassidy comes from Cas meaning ‘Curly Headed’. This name is found principally in County Fermanagh and it’s adjacent counties. Cassidys were famous for centuries as poet’s churchmen and physicians for the Maguire chieftains.

The hand knit Cassidy sweater incorporates honeycomb rope, braid, cables and moss filled diamond stitches. The diamonds symbolise a wish for wealth, the honeycomb represents work and the cables a wish for good luck. This beautiful hand knitted Aran sweater has been hand knitted in the traditional báinin (pronounced ‘baw neen’) colour, the natural white of the wool.
